If you want to support the bookstore, they sell a lot of Illini gear as well as college textbooks.  Having worked there, I can tell you a great many books look quite interesting, and you can get them used which sure beats the box stores on N. Prospect.

i haven’t been in there do they carry anything other than text books?

Yes, they have textbooks, some general reference (think dictionaries, test prep, language learning stuff), Illini apparel + gifts, a Verizon booth, general school supplies stuff, backpacks/bookbags, and they have a “Greek Shop” for that kind of stuff.  If any of that sounds like something you’re going to get anyway - show ‘em some love.
